The Sanskrit term Purusha has a profound and complex meaning. Considered to be the very essence of human existence, Purusha is often translated as ‘the inner being’ or ‘the self’. It is the eternal and unchanging self, distinct from the physical body and mind. It is the pure consciousness and silent witness of all life experiences.
In the Vedic context, Purusha is seen as the soul or spirit that inhabits the body. It is the divine spark that gives life to the body and mind. It is the observer who is detached from physical and mental activities: it does not participate directly in actions but keeps its position as observer, it is our soul. Purusha is closely linked to Prakriti, nature or matter. While Prakriti represents dynamic, changing nature, Purusha is the immutable, eternal principle. Their interaction is the basis of the manifestation of the universe and of life.
In Ayurveda, understanding and realising Purusha is essential for achieving spiritual awakening. This realisation enables us to transcend the limitations of the material world and align ourselves with the universal cosmic energy. Purusha in Ayurveda is a central concept that links medicine, philosophy and spirituality. It is the key to understanding the profound nature of the human being and to achieving a balanced, healthy and harmonious life.
“The Purusha is greater than the greatest thing, and smaller than the smallest. It is hidden in the heart of all creatures.”
Upanishad

PURUSHA a synergy to awaken and support masculine energy
“A warrior knows that the end does not justify the means. Because there is no end, there are only means…”. Paulo Coelho
PURUSHA helps you to take the initiative sexually and to approach your libido with enthusiasm, passion and energy. This synergy supports intense perception and awakens desire. It helps you to express your desires and needs without fear.
PURUSHA makes you dynamic and active, supporting initiative, evolution and movement. It invites you to step outside yourself, to leave inertia and stagnation behind.
PURUSHA awakens the qualities associated with the masculine yang aspect: lucidity, action, dynamism, the ability to express oneself, to assert oneself, to undertake new things and to dare to take the lead.
PURUSHA gives you the confidence to make quick decisions and choices. It supports the ambition to achieve goals and objectives, to seize opportunities and to face obstacles and challenges.
PURUSHA helps you to take action instead of contemplating or thinking too much all the time. It helps you to get straight to the point.
You want to feel more enthusiasm and passion for sex. You want to boost your libido. You want to feel more intensity and pleasure during sex:
- Apply a drop of PURUSHA to the pubic area and apply gentle pressure with the middle finger for one minute. Then apply a drop of PURUSHA to the top of the skull, also applying pressure with the middle finger for one minute. This stimulates yang energy and sexual strength.
- Use PURUSHA as a perfume to boost your male sexual drive or create a massage oil: 60 drops of the synergy for 100 ml of vegetable oil.
If you have a tendency to ruminate, think and analyse for long periods, and are constantly hesitating when it comes to making decisions or choices, do the following ritual for 9 days:
- Mix 10 drops of PURUSHA with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and massage the ankles with this mixture every evening.
- Smell the PURUSHA bottle 3 times a day with your eyes closed for one minute, placing your awareness on the soles of your feet, then for one minute on the top of your head.
If you want to boost your energy levels and have more energy and stamina, start each day with the following pranayama exercise (which you must do before breakfast).
This breathing exercise also helps to detoxify the respiratory tract, oxygenate the body and stimulate the metabolism.
Note that this exercise is not recommended if you suffer from heart problems, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism or if you are pregnant.
- Rub your wrists and palms with a few drops of PURUSHA, then sit down in a comfortable position with your back straight.
- Close your eyes and watch your breath coming and going for a moment. You can also smell your wrists.
- Breathe in deeply through your nose, inflating your abdomen, then immediately follow with a rapid, forced exhalation through your nose, contracting your abdomen.
- The inhalations and exhalations should be rapid, rhythmic and powerful. This creates a rapid movement of the diaphragm.
- Each inhalation and exhalation cycle should be performed with strength and speed.
- Do 10 cycles of rapid inhalation and exhalation. Then pause and breathe normally.
- Gradually increase the number of cycles as you become more comfortable with the technique.
- You can do up to three sets of 20 to 30 cycles, with breaks between each set.
